In June, we started the process of getting our products certified vegan to the highest possible standards through The Vegan Society, which was founded in the United Kingdom in 1944.
Today, we are proud to announce that we are officially certified by The Vegan Society and are honoured to add the certified Vegan Trademark to our cosmetics made from organic hemp produced in Switzerland.
We will be implementing the new standard and certification into our communication, product packaging and branding immediately.
About The Vegan Society
The Vegan Society was founded in November 1944 and has made tremendous progress since.
The Society now defines veganism as "A philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals."
The founding of The Vegan Society is celebrated annually on 1 November, World Vegan Day.
The Vegan Trademark has been helping users identify that a product is free from animal ingredients since 1990. Registration with the trademark gives brands the confidence to shout about their vegan credentials.
